What is multi-currency compensation, really?I sometimes get this question: “Is multi-currency compensation just about paying someone in dollars instead of yuan?” Not quite. In practice, multi-currency compensation means creating and managing pay packages for employees working in, or sent to, other countries, where salaries, bonuses, and allowances may be set and paid in more than one currency—sometimes even split between home and host country currencies depending on the assignment.
For Chinese companies, especially those sending employees abroad (外派), it often means juggling:
